Hi,
I needed to download a new spreadsheet because the old one was lost due to data corruption of a hard drive.
On opening the file, microsoft says it has blocked macros from running because the source file is untrusted. I never had this show up previously, can you tell me what I may have done wrong? or may need to do?
Kind of time sensitive, I lost a lot of data. Also this is on a pc laptop.
Thanks,
Ann

This is a relatively new thing that I have noticed, especially when excel files that contain macros are sent back and forth through email, before they can be used initially you have to "unblock" the file by trusting the source.
You can tell this is an issue because when you open the file, there will be a pink banner up top that says macros are blocked.
To resolve this:
In windows file explorer --
* Right click the icon of the excel file.
* Select Properties.
At the bottom you will see: "Security: This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer."
* Click the Unblock checkbox at the bottom right.
From there you can open the file like normal.

Thanks, that worked like a charm. Now I can't get it to take me to ebay to authenticate. It says it's going to, then nothing happens.
Any help would be appreciated.
